Electronic Correspondence is downloaded onto your system via Healthlink’s messaging system.
Contact the helpdesk for instructions on setting up this system and installing the Healthlink Software.
There are two steps in this process:
- Running Healthlink’s software (HMS.EXE). This is usually set up to download mail on a regular basis (e.g. every 2 hours) . This fetches any messages from your healthlink mailbox and places them on your computer.
- Processing electronic messages (converting these messages to a format that MyPractice can display).
One computer should be set up to process mail, usually hourly. This is done by setting the workstation settings.
You can force the mail to be processed at any time (if you don’t want to wait for the next automatic check) by clicking on the Healthlink button in the top toolbar.
Once the download is complete, use the Mail Screen to view the messages.
